- Overall, there is the base for a very good article. However, there is enough concern over the breadth of information to make this a suitable GA. As a Washingtonian who favors the right but also thinks that a bowl doesn't hurt, I trust that you can make this GA happen.
- The lead is intended to be an overall summary that could standalone as a mini article. It is lacking since it is just a short paragraph.
- The first paragraph discussing his early life is relevantly bare. Did he graduate from college? Did he have a ob before moving? A current problem with our elected officials is that they move to different districts. Did he actually have a job in the state or did he just move hoping to get election?
- There is a ref discussing terminating contracts with BYU but nothing else besides that line. The reader wants more.
- The image is too big.
- Varies grammar may need to be looked at. "In 1970... " needs a coma.
- Is "37th Legislative District" or nothing similar wikilinkable? Maybe he city council or another handful of things. Do a whole check of what could be usefully winkilikned.
- "He grabbed headlines on a number of occasions due to his radical politics and firebrand activism." Is a major issue with the article. I see nothing about this in the prose. Without at least a couple of paragraphs going into detail this can't be considered for GA.
- "later, drove an armed contingent of Black Panthers in a state-owned vehicle to Rainier Beach High School during a period of racial tensions" Why?
- Later life leaves more to be desired. It isn't a focus of what makes him notable but it is hard to raise an article to Ga with a 1 line paragraph.
- The sourcing needs work. The obituary isn;t formatted a all. Please make sure to include access dates to online sources. Historylink has a very specific citation style request.
- The external link is not capped correctly and it is questionable if it is even needed.
- What was his voting record like? He had some issues that looks like current dem policies but I can't see why he was a Republican.
Good base. A couple images, prose give a decent overview, there is sourcing, an infobox is there. It jhust isn't ready yet so I am keeping this nomination open.Cptnono (talk) 06:21, 24 January 2015 (UTC)
Unfortunately the nominator is not able to work on this article. I will circle back to see if I can fix anything if time permits.Cptnono (talk) 20:26, 30 January 2015 (UTC)
